Vissabl is owned and operated by vissabl LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company with its business office in Plano, Collin County, Texas. These terms are the agreement between you and vissabl LLC ("we", "us"), covering your use of vissabl.com and the Vissabl directory (the "Service").
By visiting or using the Service you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and the other policies they name. If you do not agree, you must not use this website.
Read section 7 and section 8 carefully. They say that memberships are paid in advance and are not refundable, and they say when we can take a listing down. Sections 14, 15, 16 and 19 limit our responsibility, ask you to indemnify us, and say how a dispute must be raised.
1. Who may use the Service
Browsing the directory is free and needs no account. You must be at least 18 to create an account, list a business, or write a review.
If you create a listing you are telling us you are authorized to act for that business. Listing a business you do not own or represent is grounds for immediate removal and, where it is done to impersonate someone, a report to the platform they are impersonating.
2. Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us straight away if you think somebody else has access to it.
We may refuse, suspend, or close an account that is used to break these terms, to abuse other members, or to harm the directory's reputation.
3. What a membership is, and what it is not
A paid membership publishes your business on the directory and gives you the features described on the plan you bought at the price shown when you bought it.
- It is not exclusivity. We limit how many businesses appear in a category in a city, but that limit can change, and a limit is not a promise that no competitor will ever appear beside you.
- It is not a franchise, a dealership, a partnership, a joint venture, or an employment relationship. You run your business; we run a directory.
- It is not a guarantee of leads, calls, customers, revenue, search rankings, or placement in any result on any site including ours. Nobody honestly selling advertising can promise those, and we do not.
- It is not a licence, insurance, bond, or endorsement. We do not vet the quality of anyone's work.
4. Your content
Everything you upload — text, photos, logos, hours, links — stays yours. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host it, display it, resize it, and use it to promote your listing and the directory, for as long as your listing is up and for a reasonable period afterwards in archives and caches we do not control.
You promise you have the right to give us that licence: that the photos are yours or licensed to you, that the logo is yours, and that nothing you upload infringes anyone else's rights.
We may resize, compress, crop for layout, and refuse anything that breaks these terms.
4a. What you warrant as a member
While your listing is up, you are telling every consumer who reads it that these are true. So they have to be:
- Your listing information is accurate and current, and you correct it promptly when it stops being either.
- You hold every licence, registration, bond and insurance policy your trade and your state require, and you keep them in force.
- Your advertising claims, discounts and offers are real, currently available, and honoured as described.
- You comply with the law in how you contact people — calls, texts and email included — and you honour opt-outs.
Tell us promptly if any of that changes: a licence lapses or is disciplined, insurance ends, ownership changes, or a regulator or court takes action against the business. We may ask for evidence, annotate or pause a listing, or remove a badge while we look into it.
We do not verify licences or insurance ourselves, and we say so publicly on every page. That is exactly why what you tell us has to be true.
5. Ownership claims and badges
Family Owned and Locally Owned are claims you make, not facts we have verified. Our badges say so on the page. If your ownership changes — you sell, you take outside investment, you are acquired — tell us, and we will change or remove the badge.
Claiming an ownership status you do not have is a misrepresentation to every consumer who reads your page. It is grounds for immediate removal without refund.
6. Reviews
Reviews belong to the person who wrote them. You may reply publicly as the owner. You can never edit or delete a review about your business, and neither can we, except where it breaks a published policy — spam, abuse, off-topic content, personal information, impersonation, duplicates, illegal content, or a conflict of interest.
We will not remove a review for being unfavorable, and we do not accept payment to do so. Our moderation tools do not offer that as an option.
- Do not write, buy, trade, or commission reviews of your own business, or reviews of a competitor.
- Do not offer money, discounts, free work, gift cards, or entry into a prize draw in exchange for a review, or in exchange for a positive one.
- Do not ask only your happy customers. Sending our review link to a selected subset based on how you expect them to rate you is review gating, and it is prohibited.
- Do not send our review link to anyone who was not actually your customer.
- Do not threaten, intimidate, or retaliate against somebody for an honest review, and do not use contract terms, penalties or legal demands to stop one being written.
- An employee, an owner, or a family member may leave a review only with a clear disclosure of that connection in the review itself.
- Do not republish reviews from elsewhere as if they were left here, and do not present ratings from another platform as ours.
These rules mirror the Federal Trade Commission's rule on consumer reviews and testimonials. Breaking them risks your listing here and can expose your business to civil penalties that have nothing to do with us.
If you believe a review is false or was not written by a real customer, report it from your dashboard with whatever evidence you have. We will ask the reviewer for their side, protect both people's personal information, and decide. We may leave it, remove it, or label it as disputed where that is the honest answer. Removal is not guaranteed, and a review is never removed for being unfavourable.
7. Fees, billing and renewal
Prices, the billing period, and what a plan renews at are shown on the form before you pay. The renewal price is stated at the point of sale and in your dashboard.
Memberships renew automatically at the renewal price shown, until you cancel. When you buy, you agree separately and specifically to that automatic renewal, we send you a confirmation you can keep, and we email you a reminder before each renewal charge.
Cancelling is a button in your dashboard, and it is deliberately no harder than joining was. It stops the renewal immediately. You do not have to call us, email us, or explain yourself, and there is no sequence of offers to click through first.
If you cancel, your page stays up for the rest of the term you have already paid for, and then comes down. Cancelling does not trigger a refund of the current term.
We may change prices. A price change never affects a term you have already paid for; it applies from your next renewal, and we tell you before it happens.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
8. All sales are final
Membership fees, day-priced placements — category advertisements and job posts — and any other add-ons are paid in advance and are not refundable. That includes, without limitation:
- Changing your mind, or deciding the directory is not for you.
- Not using the membership, not logging in, or not finishing your listing.
- Not getting the calls, leads, customers, or results you hoped for.
- Closing, selling, pausing, or rebranding your business mid-term.
- Your listing being removed or suspended because you broke these terms, misrepresented your ownership, or abused the review rules.
- Taking a category advertisement or a job post down before the days you bought have run. You are free to do that at any time — the spot goes back into the pool for somebody else — but the days already paid for are not refunded and are not credited to a later run.
There is one exception. If we remove your listing for our own reasons — we close a city, we retire a category, we simply decide not to carry your business any longer — and you have not broken these terms, we refund the unused portion of what you paid, calculated by whole months remaining. You do not have to ask for it.
None of this stops you leaving. Cancel from your dashboard at any time and the renewal stops — what you have already paid for simply runs to the end of the term.
Nothing in this section takes away a right you have under law that cannot be waived.
9. Payment disputes and chargebacks
If something is wrong with a charge, email support@vissabl.com first. A person reads it, and most billing problems are a mistake somebody can fix the same day.
We cannot and do not take away your right to dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer. That right is yours and it survives anything written here.
What we do ask is that you use it for genuine billing errors and not as a way to reverse a service you received. Filing a dispute over a membership that was delivered as described — your page published, your term run — is a claim we will answer with our records: the plan you chose, the price shown at checkout, the dates your page was live, and the traffic it received.
- While a dispute is open on your account, we may suspend your listing until it is resolved.
- If a dispute is decided in our favour, we may recover the amount charged back plus any fee our processor charges us, and we may require payment by a method that cannot be reversed before restoring your listing.
- Repeated disputes are grounds for closing your account permanently.
10. Suspension and removal
We can remove or suspend a listing, a photo, a review, a badge, or an account at any time, with or without notice, where we believe it breaks these terms or our published policies, harms a consumer, or puts the directory's reputation at risk. When something is urgent — impersonation, a scam, an unsafe link, an ownership claim that is plainly false — we act first and explain afterwards.
You will always be told why. Nothing you wrote is deleted when a listing is suspended; put right whatever caused it and we will put the page back.
We may also decline to publish or renew any listing, for any reason, provided we handle the money as section 8 describes.
Where a member's page is taken down for nonpayment, that is a removal for cause and no refund is due.
11. Acceptable use
- Do not upload anything unlawful, hateful, deceptive, or that you do not have the rights to.
- Do not scrape, crawl, or bulk-copy the directory, or use it to build a competing list.
- Do not attempt to break, overload, or probe our systems, or to reach data that is not yours.
- Do not use contact details found here to send unsolicited commercial email, texts, or calls to our members.
- Do not impersonate another business, another person, or us.
12. Communications
By creating an account you agree that we may send you email about your account: confirmations, moderation decisions, reviews, receipts, renewal notices, security notices, and changes to these terms. These are part of the service and you cannot opt out of them while you have an account.
Marketing email is separate and you can unsubscribe from it at any time without affecting your account email.
We text your mobile number to protect your account — verification codes and password resets — when you ask for them. We send marketing texts (local deals and community alerts from Vissabl and your neighborhood) only if you opt in with a separate, unchecked box. Opting in is never a condition of an account or a purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any marketing text to stop them, HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Neighborhood sponsor. The same optional sign-up box for your neighborhood's texts and emails also asks to share your name, home address, email address and mobile number with the business that sponsors that neighborhood on Vissabl, so it can contact you about its own products, services and offers. You can turn this off at any time under My profile. Without that opt-in, the sponsor may not contact you about its offers.
If you are a neighborhood sponsor, you may contact only neighbors marked Opted in in your sponsor dashboard about your own business; other members' details are for helping manage the neighborhood and may not be used for marketing. The dashboard lets you view them, not export them: you may not copy, scrape or move them into another list or system, sell, rent or give them to anyone else, and you lose access when your sponsorship ends. You must honor every request to stop (including STOP replies and unsubscribes) promptly and follow the laws that apply to calls, texts, email and visits. Misuse can end your sponsorship without refund.
The full detail is in our Communications and consent policy, which forms part of these terms.
13. Third parties
The Service relies on other companies — Stripe for payments, SendGrid for email, Supabase for hosting and data, Google for address lookup. Their handling of your information is covered by their own terms, and our Privacy Policy names each of them.
Links to a member's own website or social profiles are theirs, not ours. We do not check them before they go up, and we do not monitor what those sites do afterwards. Report one and we will look.
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the directory will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any listing's information is accurate — listings are supplied by the businesses themselves.
We are not a party to any dealing between a consumer and a business found here. Hiring anyone is your decision and your risk.
We do not vet businesses. Apart from the limited checks described on our What verification means page (for example, that a phone number or email reaches the business), we do not license-check, background-check, insure, inspect, guarantee or endorse any business, and badges, ratings and reviews are not a recommendation. Reviews and posts are the opinions of the people who wrote them. Check licensing, insurance and references yourself before you hire anyone. You use the Service and anything you find through it at your own risk.
In these terms, the "Vissabl Parties" means vissabl LLC and its owners, members, managers, officers, shareholders, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, ambassadors, successors and assigns. The disclaimers and limits in sections 14 and 15 protect each of them as well as us.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost business, or lost goodwill, even if told such damages were possible.
The total liability of all Vissabl Parties together, to you, for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these terms, is limited to $100 in total.
Some states do not allow certain limitations, in which case the limitations above apply to the greatest extent permitted.
16. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Vissabl Parties against claims, demands, losses, damages, fines and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of the Service, your listing or other content, your reviews and posts, your ownership claims, your dealings with any business or customer you found here, or your breach of these terms or of the law.
17. Our intellectual property
The Vissabl name, logo, badge designs, page layouts, category structure, and written content are ours. A current member may display the member badge we issue while the membership is active, exactly as issued, and must stop using it when the membership ends.
18. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. If a change is material we will email account holders and post the new version with a new effective date at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the new terms. If you do not, cancel before the date — and if the change is one we have made mid-term that materially reduces what you paid for, tell us and we will refund the unused portion.
19. Governing law and where disputes are heard
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Any dispute arising out of these terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Collin County, Texas, and both of us consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
Talk to us first. Before starting any claim, you agree to contact us and try to resolve it directly: send a written notice of your dispute by mail to our corporate office (section 21), with your name, contact details, what happened and what you want. We will try in good faith to resolve it within 60 days of receiving it, and you may not start a court case or other proceeding before then.
Claims are brought individually. To the fullest extent the law allows, you may bring a claim only in your own name, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective or representative action.
Any claim must be started within one year after it arose, or it is permanently barred, to the extent the law allows that limit.
Nothing here stops either of us from bringing a qualifying individual claim in small claims court.
20. The rest
If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. You may not assign this agreement without our consent; we may assign it as part of a sale of the business. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Communications and consent policy, the Listing policy, and the Advertising disclosure, are the whole agreement between us.
